Chloroplasts
Ok,
your plants are dying. Your garden is
becoming garbage. What happened to your
plants? Are they getting enough
food? WAIT! Plants don’t need outsiders like you to give
them food, they make it themselves! But
how do you suppose they make that food?
If you guessed their cells, you are thinking in the right way, but you
need to be more detailed. If you notice
any of surviving-near death plants, mainly their leaves, they probably are
losing their green color. This means
that you need to get your plant cells more chloroplasts. Chloroplasts are the organelles that give
your plant leaves their green color. (Chlorophyll also helps chloroplasts with
the green color, but chlorophyll is not classified as an organelle.) But more
importantly, chloroplasts are the main producers of food for the plant. (Come to think of it, chloroplasts make the
oxygen that we breathe, but let’s save the plants first.) A chloroplast takes in sunlight, air, and the
Carbon Dioxide we exhale, and through special chemical mixtures, it makes the
plant’s main energy source, glucose (sugar), and our oxygen. Now that you know what is causing these
famine for your plants, TAKE ACTION!!!
Get some chloroplasts for your survivors NOW!!!
