OH NO! One of your cells has stopped working! It is not functioning the way it is supposed to, nor is it even behaving properly. It seems as if the command center of the cell is dead. Being the command center of your cell is the main function of the nucleus, but not the only. The nucleus houses your DNA. The nucleus also works as the transcriber of your RNA. With the DNA, the nucleus tells the organelles what to do and directs them. (It’s like a drum major directing the marching band in the parade.) The nuclear pores within your nucleus will transfer proteins that the nucleus will need to perform its duties. The nucleolus inside the nucleus will naturally produce ribosomes for the cell.
